Default Help drive shaft seal

Hey Guys,
I have noticed that the front part of my drive shaft is leaking trans fluid where it connects to the trans but only on a slit tilt of the truck and only when It's hot it seems.. How hard is it to change this seal..I think it's the seal. Transmission tail shaft seal
Thanks

First, download one of the free service manuals from the FAQ/DIY section. If you have the correct tools it's pretty easy. The seal is easily replaced, and since the shaft will be out, have the ujoints replaced .

Rub some ATF into it before you install the shaft. If you stick it in there dry, it will probably start leaking again almost immediately.....

¥ heyyou,
Are you talking about lubricating the seal or I should say inside of it, the rubber part??What about the part (metal side)of the seal that will slip into the bore of the tailshaft. Will that get lubricated? I was planning to lube the drive shaft would that be suffcient?? And I will take some pictures to post. I am assuming that the metal part of that seal slips into the bore of the tailshaft. I got a 2 in coupler PVC and it fits perfectly over it to allow you to hold a 2x4 over the coupler and hammer it in. He used a 2x4 bored out but with the seal you will get will cover the shaft that's why I got the 2in coupler and it fits exactly to the back flange of the seal when and if you get the coupler maker square its just a slight snug fit to hold it in place. Unless you have a better idea.

Tweeker! Here is a ok video as a reference
