Finished up yesterday and she shifts perfectly. We'll see how long it lasts.

Thanks again to all who helped.

Deleted trans cooler anti-drainback valve...

Along with the front band these are the parts removed...the spring was upgraded to .126 for a firmer 3-4 shift.

Almost done...

How much did I save by doing the work myself?

2-300 bucks, depending on labor rate in your area.

The trans has gone 9000 miles and failed a few days ago. I have first and reverse and cannot make it shift beyond 1st. Will crack it open tomorrow and check front band.

Sorry about broken links to photos, will try to fix it too.

Checked codes and found a PO720. Happened to have a new speed sensor on hand that came with my solenoid kit. Popped it in and......drumroll........

She's fixed.

I'll still drop the pan as I'm curious how much gunk is on the magnet.

6 months and 9000 miles so far. I thought for sure she was a goner this time.

They seem to be a good temporary fix. I got 16+k and 17 months out of my slip-on band before the transmission failed for other reasons.

A little worn on one side but still grabbing.
