Default Loud tap need help ASAP

I've got a 96 5.2 and only recently has it took on the sound that would make diesels jealous . After an Amsoil oil change the truck now at 1200 rpm or higher and only in drive or reverse . Has this loud tap I mean loud and it's only under load if I let off it hours away or if I rev it in park not a sound. I have 1.7 rockers 180 tstat sct tuner set for 93 which I run all the time . Not an exhaust leak checked vigorously no air or anything is leaking but I can't even get in the gas with out turning heads like when did dodge make a 5.2 diesel. Just drained a quart and filled with marvel and it's been 50 miles or so with no improvement . Located near front driver side valve cover area

I suggest you remove the VC's and check the rocker arms to start with.

I would't drive much further without changing oil.

This oil change has only 50 miles with Amsoil and marvel . What should I change her to? And how do I tell what lifter isn't doing it's job

If the sound makes diesels look jealous, I'd be more willing to bet you've got a cam or crank bearing issue.

Mine's making a ticking too at the driver side header area. I think it's just the gasket though because I have the cheapo ebay gaskets on the headers I just got.
