97 Dodge Ram shakes while braking

Unhappy 97 Dodge Ram shakes while braking

I have a 1997 ram 1500 sport 2wd that blew a rear wheel cylinder . I replaced everything except for the adjuster hardware on both sides of the truck. bled the brakes, and it shakes like crazy while braking.! bled brakes, more still shakes, replaced BOTH drums a second time, and it still shakes. WTH is going on with this thing! I tried adjusting to no avail. Any Ideas?

You should have the drums turned. Even if new. Might not be the problem, but needs to be eliminated as one. And are you sure the shoes are installed in the correct orientation?

This the second pair of drums.both pairs were new. the service manual shows the big shoes go towards the rear of the truck.

so it didn't shake before?

There are several differences between those brakes and mine.

The shaking feels like its coming from the rear , and I do not feel it in the steering wheel. I don't think they could have warped on the jack stands I am hearing slight squealing when almost completely stopped. and when I brake hard they feel like they give out for a second, (abs?)

Find yourself a stretch of lonely road. Run the truck up to 30 MPH, and step SLOWLY down on the e-brake. (stay off the service brake) Get the same shake?
