Default Need help. Mechanic giving me run around

Hey guy or gals,
I hope somebody can help me.
I bought a 2000 dodge ram 1500 v6 a month or so ago. Has 159k on it. The guy i bought it from is a mechanic and gave me a 90 day warrenty. I started noticing what i think is tranny problems. A few times while driving it almost seems as if it gets thrown into neutral and i cannot accelerate and when i press on the gas it just revs and the rpms go up. Some times it Wont shift until the rpms are very high. And another problem i have in a video i am linking. The mechanic has had it brought to him twice and he swears up and down he can not get it to replicate what im telling him is happening. I just got it on video tonight and i was hoping for some info when i go back to him with the video . If you guys could take a look and tell me what you think that would be great. Its only about 50 sec long. Thanks

Does it rev freely or does it feel like the tranny is slipping

Could be as easy as governor pressure sensor and solenoid. Problem is, they go bad for a reason, usually indicating a rebuild isn't to far in the future.

The stock pieces are not self-cleaning, so, the get gunked up with typical wear material that accumulates in the fluid, and start showing the symptoms you describe.

Take the mechanic for a test drive, and SHOW him what is going on. If at that point, he wants to continue giving you the run around, ask for your money back, and look for another truck.

The motor sounds good tho. I would check the throttle valve adjustment and pull the trans pan and see what you find.

Trans rebuilds can cost north of a thousand bucks though.... easily.

if you have a 90 day warranty you need to make a serious claim, in writing if necessary, in an attempt to solve this. the best thing to do is return the truck and get your money back - because - as said, these trucks have a terrible reputation for transmission failure, and generally - the only solution is to remove the transmission and rebuild it. that's a serious repair that generally costs about $1500-2000, which is probably about as much as you paid for the entire truck.

don't let your 90 day warranty expire, period.
the likelihood of your mechanic seller paying for a rebuild is zero.
the likelihood of your mechanic seller performing an expensive rebuild is low.
the likelihood of your mechanic seller giving you the runaround for 60 more days is high.
the likelihood of you getting stuck with a truck that needs a new transmission is high.

if this warranty in writing?
what are its terms ?
does it allow the return of the truck?
does it require the seller to fix any problems?
does it allow the seller to weasel out?
is it enforceable in any way?

How long have you had the vehicle? And did you just like the other members had said, did you get it in writing. What gears do shift when you are driving??? Also have the guy that sold you vehicle go on a road test with you.
