I think a lot of folks that don't run cats do so for financial reasons. 200 bucks for a high flow, bolt in cat, or 5 bucks for a piece of pipe? Yeah, I know which way I am going.

I don't know of anyone that has ever been ticketed for not having a cat on their vehicle, at least, not here in southern michigan......

Hollow it out, then put an 18mm thread spark plug non-fouler in the rear bung. Youll have to drill out the end a little but it works.

^ +1.

The non-fouler fix works very well in the vehicles I have done it to.

"Federal law"
Puh-lease. If that even is a federal law, I don't see how they can enforce it. I live in the city though, so it's better if I run a cat. I'll look at Summit and see what I can find.

Whatever you decide to do. Do Not run that motor with the cat clogged.

just curious, did you happen to notice any other benefits of putting a high flow on such as the slightest increase in power or mileage?

Mine rattles like crazy, the local muffler shop just looked at it and said it's okay.
( I disagree)
We don't do any smog test here in southern Indiana either.
If you do remove them, what about those small tubes that come off and go to the engine?

It really changed the sound of my truck. It made it a lot deeper so I can't complain.

Remove it, and seal up the holes.

Now that the Plenum is done I think I'll just delete the cat. Anybody got any pointers? Seems pretty straightforward. I'm just going to unbolt it and see what fits.
