Cut it out, and replace it with just a piece of pipe.

 

Yeah, I've done it to a couple vehicles before. Just have to break out the saws-all.

 

Gotta be a little more creative on the dodge though, as on your truck, two pipes come together at the cat. Need to be creative welding that up.

 

Yeah I was looking at that. That's gonna take some thought, especially since I can't weld.

 

I think maybe I can get lucky myself and unbolt mine... That has to be the biggest muffler I have ever seen besides on a semi.

 

I'm thinking mine was almost 3 feet long.

My Thrush is 18 inches.

 

I'm just gonna get a replacement. I like the idea of cutting it off, but I'll just have to spend the money and put one on for my safety inspection next year anyway. It sucks, but it is what it is.
Found a pretty good deal on a Magnaflow replacement though.

 

Can't go wrong with the magnaflow hi flow!

 

^ Yeah that's what I'm sayin. It's a good deal on an upgrade so I come out ahead either way.
This just means I'll have to get new headers, and upgrade the rest of my exhaust!
