I see you haven't changed at all. I am curious though, what leads you to think those are not Hughes Iron heads, as you claim?

No, the eq heads are a different part number. These are basically stock heads, just, better castings. (thicker deck) in the neighborhood of 300 bucks a shot, not 1000.

These are the ones I am thinkin' of. And you are correct, in that they are indeed EQ heads. (or, at least, what Hughes calls EQ heads....) No pics showing the ends of them though....

[QUOTE=dieselvette;3287381]I hear what your sayin, but 15 MPG with 4:10 gears, my type of driving to & from jobsites, intersection every 5 miles, etc. or towing trailer on the interstate then 15 would be good enough. Bone-stock well-maintained 6500lbs I get 11-12 usually. A genuine 20 on the interstate empty would be super. QUOTE]
My setup is m1, JBA, 52mm tb, canned sct tune, 3.55s, 265 MTs, 4x4, qcsb and also about 6500lbs. That's empty mileage at 60mph lol. I'm just saying it's possible. I managed to get 19.5mpg ONE time driving from Sioux City, IA to Cedar Falls, IA (4-4.5hrs no stops) at 65mph with no wind on a 78F day lol. Only a Flowmaster 50 series dual catback system on stock 245 ATs with a tad too much pressure lmfao. Just about everything was ideal.
BTW what part of Iowa are you from?

I always get a chuckle out of (and outside the blast radius around) people who ain't equipped to do it trying to overthink things.

I leave my spark plugs in for around 100,000 miles so if I don't put them in with anti-seize I'll have to take them out with heroics. I don't aspire to heroism and always do my best to never require it of myself. Torque readings? It's just a damned spark plug. Crank 'er down 'til she breaks then back off an eighth turn. Now, if I've got someone in my garage giving me 5h17 about not using the torque wrench for that, then just to keep the peace I'll use the torque wrench. Because in addition to establishing correct torque values, they're also very useful in the commission of felonious assaults and the blood very conveniently just wipes right off of the polished metal.

The 1/2 inch drive fellers with the long handles work best for that.... I like the click type, as either end makes a profoundly satisfying THUMP when it hits.....

I have never used a torque wrench on spark plugs...... How tight they get, depends on what flavor seat they have.

I, too, prefer the half-inch drive. But being a slave to my art I grab the handle end because the square drive delivers better penetration of thick skulls and makes more aesthetically pleasing blood spatter patterns. That whole amorphous pool of blood thing is just way too overdone in garage art these days, in my opinion.

I never really concerned myself with the aesthetics of blood-spatter. The penetration angle though, that bears some consideration.

God I love hangin' out here........ Time to clean the monitor again though. At least I was only drinking water.
