Default No parking lights,dash lights?

Ok so I was under the dash rewiring my aftermarket lights which are hooked up to my parking lights. And as soon as I took apart one of the negative and positive wires all the parking and dash lights went out. I didn't notice until about 20 mins later and tried pulling out the headlight switch only to notice that whenever I turn on the parking lights it blinks for a millisecond and then goes out. The turn signals, brakes, and head lights works fine. Its just the parking lights having the issue. The dimmer on the headlight switched before this incident worked fine if that helps. Anybody know whats going on or had this happen before?

Well I guess its the switch. I was able to pull the switch out 1/4 of the way and the parking lights and everything came on. Does it sound like a switch?

Well since this is such a new issue in the Dodge era and it only seems to be happening on my 2nd gen ram and has never happened to anyone else before since obviously there is no solution available for this fix. Ill just take it to the dealer I guess I stumped all of you on this question. Close thread..

Pull the switch, and have a look at it. Especially the connector. They like to melt....

Recheck the connections you changed. Sounds like a bad connection somewhere.

ok Just got done checking all the aftermarket light connections. Checked the switch connections. Do you know where the switch harness leads to? I looked under my dash and I dont see the harness. Also another thing the little metal piece on the switch which controls the dim feels like its on fire whenever I touch it.

Ok, dash light circuit Goes from headlamp switch, (which is evidently getting power) to the junction block via a tan wire, to Fuse 5. (5 amp), from there, and orange wire goes to joint connector 5 (near the steering column) and then on to the instrument cluster connector. Orange/black trace wire goes to ground.

Did you interrupt that circuit somewhere?
