Ok, so a bit of an update.

Swung into the shop and it looked like they wanted to chop a lot - not just the inner liner, but actual fender. I asked if they had done the trackbar adjustment as I had asked (I ran out of time to adjust the trackbar and put the axle to center), the guy said, "I don't know, I took over from another guy." Ok - so there is possibly issue #1 in my mind. They checked the tire rub on the passenger side, the axle is shifted to the passenger side.

Next I brought up that the cam bolts are fully forward and thus the axle is at it's rearmost point. He suggested it may still need trimming.

In the end, I asked them not to trim it and told them we would re-assess after it has been rough aligned at their shop and then come back from the actual alignment shop. That is about when I am willing to consider trimming - and I'd like due it myself.

As for the gears, 4.56 is what is being put in.

I ran 15x10's with 4" back spacing and 35's with a 5" skyjacker lift and never rubbed a bit.

Only old pic I could find. I wouldn't let them cut anything.

If they need to trim something is done wrong, my buddy ran 315/75/16 tires on a aluminum rim that had 4in backspacing and was 16x10 I know because I had the exact same rims on my truck. Yet he only had a 2.5" spacer, no rub at all until he was at full lock on uneven ground.

Either the axle is off center, or pulled way back I don't see there being a problem.

Yeah, I said the same things to them and told them not to trim. It goes to the alignment shop today, and I'll wait until they get everything centered. I suspect there will be no issue at that point, or if there is one, it'll be minor and not nearly as drastic as they suggested.

I think they're bull****ting you about this. Personally i'd be more concerned about who's setting up your gears if they're being this dumb about a simple lift.

Well... there is a requirement to trim.

The trackbar has not been cut, so the axle isn't centered, but here it is at the moment:

Turning here on the driver side clearly pushed the bottom edge of the bumper right in.

And well... that clears it, unless I hit a speed bump or something. Not even sure that is trimmable (new word I just made up).

So... not entirely sure what to hit up next. I'm actually considering whether I should get new rims and try and sell the other ones. Sucks as it was $100 to mount/balance those. Those ones on there are 16x10 with a 4" BS.

Not sure, but perhaps these now: http://www.jeep4x4center.com/black-r...942685550.html

Not looking to get drastic, but being honest and considering options here.

The tire:

Yeah, I ran out of time to do it myself. Had to explain it to the shop, sent them the instructions so they recognized that it's for trucks with 4-7" of lift and that it will likely have to be trimmed. I had explained it in the past, but I don't think they were tracking. They are going to tackle it in the morning. Still wish I had been able to do it myself, but was definitely out of time.

Well F, I think I would install a 1" coil-spring spacer and taller block in the back before any cutting is done. Cheaper than new wheels and it should solve your problem. The 5" kit parts should be able to handle the extra inch.

Is that actually going to make enough of a difference though? I'll call the shop in the morning and see if they even have the parts.
