Anyone want to enlighten me how to mod a 3.9L fuel rail to a 5.9L? Jacka$$'s sent me a 6cylinder rail.....I asked if it would fit and for a picture....OH it'll fit but no pic. There is no "plugged" openings for the 2 other injectors. My intake is at the machine shop......
My educated guess is that its not gonna work.
$360ish for a new fuel rail is plain stupid
....I gotta get one asap. Most BS part on this motor.....
VC's are nice though.......way too expensive, but half a freakin fuel rail.

Show me a pic of the rail you need, I may have one that will work.
You cannot modify the 3.9 rail to work. Get your money back if you can. If you paid via credit card, or paypal, you can contest the charges if he wants to be a ***** about it.
Where are you located?

I'm Rockford IL 61104.
I got them off ebay, I paid paypal, i'll get my $$ back probably, just have to ship it back. I'll find out today, hopefully.
My rails are at the engine place, I'll grab them when I drop the rest of the parts off.
I'm gonna check some yards a bit further out, not much luck close as most wanted to keep the engine complete.

Well got that beast back.....finally. I had everything covered on my end, except the Felpro head bolts I got only had 10....BS, shoulda been 20 and the summit racing cap and rotor weren't right??? Bought my own SS bolts for the VC's(and new grommets) and EXH MAN bolts(grade 8) at the hardware store.
Everything on it is new, barring the block and pan(checked ball honed blasted painted), pistons, crank(ground/polished), rockers, EXH MANS(ported blasted coated) and intake, timing cover, clutch fan and all mounts(cleaned blasted coated or painted). Fuel rail is used(blasted and painted).
I got it back with the usual codes I had before.....31,37,132,& 138. All O2, but I think they popped up on them before full exhaust(got late last night....wasn't worried). I got it back from them with just a direct fit CAT(flowmaster) and a Magnaflow muffler. Granted these guys are engine builders(boats and hotrods mainly), so I dont think they know the jist of it on newer vehicles. They did put it on a Dyno "supposedly".
Cleared the codes today, and so far just P0132. Both "were" new, but I had to finagle with the threads on the rear to get it into the old CAT. They mounted it in the new CAT, not sure how it is seating. Looks OK by eye...BUT....the code is for the front.....I wonder if it didnt foul when running on old CAT with the bad plenum. It didnt run for alot of miles. I'm gonna wait till I get the exhaust finalized, before changing sensors again.
Anyway I ran down and got a pinch of extra pipe to get it a bit further back from the muffler, but just the buy yourself stuff straight and 45 out(to get me through this storm). The code did dissapear for a few minutes on next start, but did come back. How far would you folks run the exhaust after the muffler? Everything is 2.5". I'm gonna wait
Thanks.

Well I'm still pullin codes 0132, and have had 0138 come up(once, not sure when as the 0132 was lit). I ran about 4 foot of pipe after the muffler, ran it out in front of rear wheel, so its got 1 90ish bend. This I can change if needed. Think its enough back pressure? Or should I pipe it out the rear(back bumper), or maybe just behind the rear tire to the side?
I think I will change the front O2 one more time till I take it to someone electrically inclined to check the wires if a new one doesn't fix the problem. The "old one is new", but I did put some miles on it with the old engine(bad plenum,CAT maybe clogged?). Just not sure how many miles? It still affects it randomly at idle, but not like it used to on the old engine. I dont mind it if its running rich, BUT just for breakin time....But the CEL irks me and its still not right....
I did plow a bit with it, but I never had a chance to go thru the plow......that was today's main goal.....reset the CEL doing it....P0132 as soon as it gets to sensor temp and it kicks on(140ish?). But the plow is back in shape...had to change the fluid 2x's as it had ATF in it. Always wonder why $4-6 a year keeps peeps from using actual plow fluid? And my brother runs a fleet =), maybe thats why...$40-60 a year? Get the blue stuff kids, its not a 14qt diesel engine =).
As for the pics...I can give U a final, but it looks like a new engine =). I didn't put it together so, no along the way pics. They did blast and paint the frame in engine comp best they could. Looks good. I'll get a shot when I change the front O2 tomorrow(unless u think a tailpipe out the back(longer) would be better?). Those VC's are tough.....MOPAR MAGNUM......Glad I got the used fuel rails...blast/paint and u really cant see them. Looks stock, looks new.

Still same problem. P0132 . Trans/drivetrain gone thru. Inspected wires. Nothing noticeable. Gotta be wiring somewhere? Truck has run fine since drivetrain(trans,tfer/driveshafts ujoints) done, but I haven't run it much. No "new" O2 yet, just the new from before rebuild.
Someone teach me electrical....Gonna change the front O2 again tomorrow....$25 and a balmy 39 tomorrow, was below 0 for 40+ hours here.... hard to work on her
