There is a freeze plug tool that has a handle and adapters to install the freeze plugs.

Should be able to get to it easier on a lift after putting a screw jack under the oil pan, removing the motor mount and jacking the motor up a bit on that side. Would be good to have a picture of that area to see exactly what the issue may be.

For that freeze plug, I just supported the engine on a jack, pulled the motor mount, drove a big screwdriver thru the plug, and levered it out. (doesn't matter if you destroy the plug taking it out, not like you need to reinstall it.)

Once it was out, I hit the hole with some sandpaper, put a bead of RTV around the sealing surface of the freeze plug, and used a large half-inch socket, and a six inch extension as a driver. Worked great. Let it sit for an hour for the RTV to cure, put it all back together, added coolant, and down the road I went.
