Default tranny problem ?

just had the tranny rebuilt . did a complete tune up. when driving it seems like it shifts real fast. it feels like im in overdrive at 40 mph and has no power. when I kick it down, it down shifts for a second and then falls flat on its face, no power. when I did the tune up I found rust in the distributor on the timing advance. I cleaned it off the best I could but it still has some on it . cold this be the problem ? do I need a new dis. shaft ? any help would be very helpful . THANKS

i dont know you engine or trany. but it sounds like the linkage or cable going to the trany from the throttle body is miss adjusted. i think it is set to lite, readjust it to pull more on the trany. if you can find the factory setting should be good for most people. years ago i would reset them and even mod them. but i dont recommend that for most people.

Check your TV cable adjustment, if that isn't it, take it back to the rebuilder.

If you just paid big bucks to have it rebuilt, take it back, show them the problem, have THEM fix it.

If the truck has lack of power, you may have a plugged exhaust system.
