can you extract what's left? If so, no need to pull the manifold.

Nope. Not without the bottom brass part falling into the motor.. Then I will have to pull it anyway. I have everything loose and all the bolts completely out.. The manifold aint budging though... UGH
I've smacked it with a hammer, and tried to pry.. I double checked all the bolts are out..

It would not have fallen into the motor, all you had to do was remove the thermostat and us a wet/dry vacuum to get the bits out of water jacket right there. There is a pry spot on the front drivers side of the block to remove the intake.

Well if you have to pull the manifold just take that as an opportunity to check the plenum gasket

I actually have new gaskets on order.. Mine has the upgraded Plenum or whatever, thank god. I did find out they forgot to put the two bolts in the back of the manifold on though.. Nice. =/ I may just go ahead, since the manifold is clear, and pull it.. IF I can get it off.......

Wonder if those two bolts aren't in there, because they broke off when doing the plenum repair....... not like they are easy to get to, even with the intake off.

That is possible! I just felt back there and there was what felt like empty bolt holes.. The manifold itself doesn't have threaded holes though, from what I can see?
