Default Shifting from 1st to 2nd Issue Automatic

My 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9l Automatic Gas started with having issues with shifting in park. It would not stay in place and would slip back to reverse. I also would have it in park and I could not start engine? Started fine in Neutral? Now that went away and I now can start and place in park fine and start in park? Now I have the shift from 1st to 2nd lag and high rpms then I have to give it more gas left off the gas pedal and it shifts. The rest of the gears are fine. I plow with this truck and have no issues going from reverse to drive and no slip. I have had the transmission service 4 times since I owned this truck. Very well taken care of to have this issue? I just order the Governor solenoid and Pressure Sensor and will replace fluid again. Any help would be nice.

Go with the borg warner heavy duty governor solenoid. It is actually self cleaning, which the stock unit is not. You can get the set for around 100 bucks from ebay. (with a pressure sensor as well.)

When the trans was serviced, did they adjust the bands?

Might be that time.... since the fluid/filter are new, should be able to re-use them.

Default Found a metal part in pan

I Just dropped the pan to change parts and found a fork like part in pan? Where does that part go? This would be the issue for some of my problems.

Probably a band strut, or anchor. Can you post a pic? And yes, that WOULD be a problem.

Default Part Found in Trans Pan..

This is the part I found. I also noticed a very loose valve with things flopping around in it. The picture will show it. I thing I need to have it brought to a service Trans Repair Shop.

Yep. Band anchor. The loose/floppy parts are because that piece fell out.

Put everything back together, adjust the bands. Reinstall filter/pan/fluid, go for a ride. Probably work better.

Yes I just found a video on where that Band Anchor goes and on the side of the transmission is the bolt that tightens and loosens the anchor. I will drop the pan again and save the fluid and filter and try to put that part back in. Just need to get the tork ratings for the adjustments.
