Default 1995 dodge ram 1500 shifting problems

I have a dodge ram 1500 5.9 with freshly rebuilt transmission. I had the transmission rebuilt 2000 miles ago and when I hit it to the floor from a stop it shifts to 2nd at 4800 rpms and then shifts back to 1st and then to 2nd again. It runs through the other gears no problem. I had to adjust the TV cable to the tranny because it was shifting at really high rpms when I had it rebuilt. Thought I might of adjusted the cable too much or too little? Please help! Don't want $1200 going down the drain.

I would take it back to the shop that did the rebuild and have them fix it so as you don't void the warrenty.

The thing is I had it rebuilt in a 1994 dodge ram 1500 but I rolled that truck and got a new one with a blown tranny and swapped them out. I'm sure the transmission place is going to be cheap and say I voided the warranty. So if they wouldn't do anything about it what is the best thing to do as far as repairing it myself? The guys at the shop didn't bolt it down to the cross member so when I rolled it shifted quiet a bit. Maybe this could have thrown something off? I might just try a flush and a new filter first.

What year truck is the trans in now?

That should be an RH model trans. (hydraulic.) if you are having shifting issues, sounds like a potential governor problem..... but, that's about as much as I know about the older automatics......

If you still have the other trans., you might try swapping the valve body out. It's worth a shot.

1. don't flush
2. if you are doing the filter yourself, look at the 3-4 accumulator spring. I had a similar issue, found the 3-4 accumulator spring broke, adjusted the bands and it has been fine for the last 2 years. Still have no idea why a spring for the 3-4 shift would cause problems for a 1-2 shift, but it solved the problem. Or the bands were out of adjustment, I can't say for sure since I did both at the same time. Or perhaps it just wanted to be taken apart and put back together.

It went from a 94 to a 95. Isn't there a governor solenoid right when you take the pan off? I've heard those going out before and I know the shop didn't replace that..... I did adjust the TV cable that controls the shift time of the tranny because it was shifting at way to high of rpms. Maybe I adjusted it too much?

also the truck is pulling up an error code (37) which is the torque converted solenoid.... I have no idea how to get to that?

You have a mechanical governor, no governor pressure solenoid for you.

TCC and O/D solenoids are on the valve body. Kinda fun to get to. Rumor has it you don't have to actually drop the valve body to change them.... I haven't done that repair yet, so, no first hand experience.
