Default Replacing an infinity system, front coaxials working, rear aren't

My 99 ram came with a blown infinity system. Replaced the head unit, hard wired coaxials in the front with no problem. Just wired up a rear speaker and no sound. Is that because the amp on the infinity speaker is originally powering the rear? Might I have to rewire the harness up in the front door panel to run the rear speakers off the Hu?

From my experiences with inifity systems, yes. Every one I've ran into I've had to bypass the amplifier completely

Either that, or make sure the amps get powered when the radio is on.

i just cut the wires to the amps in each front door and connected the wires but i would recommend just to get a aftermarket deck and 4 channel amp then run new speaker wire to each speaker so you dont have to deal with trying to figure out whats what
