reverse lights

Default reverse lights

My reverse lights barely blink on when i put the truck into reverse. any clues as to why?
'98 1500 Laramie, 5.9L

Probably need to adjust the linkage, either that, or the switch is going bad. (is right on the trans, where the shift linkage hits the trans.

Not too bad, procedure is in the service manual. You can download one from the FAQ section here. Probably takes longer to get the truck someplace to work on it, grab the tools, and crawl under there, than it does to actually do the job.

hmmmmm, may start here first as I've just noticed my reverse lights don't come on. All other lights work properly.

if they are coming on, but not bright it could be a crappy ground also... just throwin it out there

When I first got my truck, I didn't have reverse lights at all. Replaced the Safety Neutral switch and we were all back in action!

Good point on the ground. I was trying to think back the last time I noticed any issue and it was buddy's trailer. We had to DC some lights.

Anyways, all good for now.
