Default fi to carb

I know this has probably been discussed but I couldn't find the info I need. I have a 97 ram and I'm going carb. Please no responses about going backwards and don't do it etc. I just need some info I already have the manifold and carb and a fuel pressure regulator. Can I use my stock distributor. Or if I can't can I use one from a la block? Any of info would be appreciated. As for y I'm going carb been having way to many problems with my pcm, sensors etc since I've did cam/heads.

Why not just get a tune that works with your mods?

No, stock Distributor won't work. Reportedly, the LA dist will drop right in.

Now, what do you propose to do about other stuff the PCM controls? Speedometer. Tachometer. Voltage regulator. Transmission. Cruise control. A/C compressor. Anti-lock brakes. and probably a few other things I have forgotten.

Looking at it, I think it would actually be easier/less problematic, to solve your current issues, rather than introduce a host more.....

the anti-lock brakes on these trucks are useless since they only control the rear wheels, so don't worry about that

Heyyou thanks for what info you gave me. I'll figure w/e I run into out as I come to it. As I said I've tried to fix my problems but no luck cam is in right and distributor is in right but she pops shutters and backfires and none of hemifevers tunes have worked. Changed crank sensor plugs wires a lot of stuff with no luck I'm done with fi. And the cam is good already got it checked as well

Yep. Too stubborn to fix it properly and won't listen to reason. This will end well.
