Question 1740 help

read a lot about the 1740 code but my 2000 ram 2500 4x4 has different symptoms it will shift when I first start out in the morning as it warms up it wont shift out of first gear unless I manually shift or if I start out at a red light or stop sign and I put it in neutral then drive shifts perfect till the next light any ideas

Drop the pan, clean or replace the governor pressure sensor/solenoid.

Need to find out what changes when it warms up then. Might be the output speed sensor as well. Got a scanner you can plug in, and look at live data while driving?

1740 is for TCC and O/D solenoid performance. Basically, the PCM is grounding circuits, but, not seeing the RPM drop it thinks it should. This is a separate issue from not wanting to shift when warm. Could probably fix that one simply by replacing the solenoid set. (well, 'simply' is a relative term here.)
