Help! Loss of gauges
Ok so I have a 99 dodge ram 1500 2wd with the 5.2l. I've been having a lot if problems with my truck lately and I'm hoping someone can help.
When I first bought the truck it had a code for the speedsensor in the back if the trans and I replaced it and the code went away by it self. Acouple of months later I got in an accident and after the accident my brake and abs lights came on and I lost my speedometer under 25 mph. So I replaced the speed sensor in the rear diff. And it went away.
Acouple of months ago I was driving and came to a stop at a stop sign by my work and my air bag and abs light came on then my brake light came on then check engine came on my odometer then said no bus but I didn't lose any gauges except for my speedometer and odometer. Then acouple if seconds after it all happened it went away and it was fine. I did some research and someone said to check and clean connections on my rear diff sensor so I took it off and sprayed it out with compressed air and the said to tighten the main harness going into the distribution box under the hood so I did and the no bus had stopped but occasionally the speedometer would go out for acouple of seconds which was annoying but I felt with it.
But today I went to a clients house (driveway was almost a mile and half long of a rocky road) and I had no problem getting to her house and back home. An hour or too later I left my house pulled outa my drive way onto my street and I my speedometer went out. I ignored it and went on the my rpms went out then my check engine light came on and my odometer said no bus and I lost all gauges. I pulled over and it all came back.
Any idea what is causing this and how I can fix it cause it's really starting to get in my nerves
Sorry it's so long. Figured the more detail the better

The No Bus error is your clue. What is happening is the cluster is losing communication with the central timer module. (yeah, things on your truck more complicated than they really needed to be....) Check the connections at the PCM, and at the back of the cluster. See what things look like.
I agree with hey you.
With the accident, I bet the cluster got jarred from the plugs behind it... Easy fix with a Phillips
My dash was losing speedo intermittently, throwing abs and brake lights on the dash and giving extra dings when I turned the key

I was driving home and the airbag and abs light came on and I lost speedometer and it came back after a bit but I then started thinking. (This might sound crazy but I just hate working around airbags.) I know that if the airbag light is on it's usually cause of the passenger airbag being turned off but sense the switch is on is there any way any air bags could accidentally deeply because of this?
Airbags will only deploy when they are told to. Of course, simply touching the wrong wires, the wrong way, and the air bag will determine that it is being told to....... and will deploy. If you are working in/around the steering wheel, best to disconnect the battery, and wait 10 minutes or so for the DERM to discharge. (that is the device that stores the energy to actually fire the air bag.) Once that is done, you can do whatever you want, and it won't go off. When you are done, hook the battery back up.

Doesn't hurt my feelings a bit.
