I have a 1999 dodge ram sport with 265/75/16 a guy I know has bran new 275/60/r20 on 2014 dodge 1500 rims will they fit? are the stud size different?

 

Should fit fine. Those are about 33" tall IIRC but like 9" wide really skinny. Bolt pattern should be the same.

 

yeah everything I have looked up is the same bolt pattern, backspacing etc but I think the 99 dodge has 1/2 inch wheel studs and the 2014 has 9/16 wheel studs.

 

They will bolt right up, but the lugnuts on your truck won't fit in the rims very good. The ligs on the new truck are way bigger and when you use the smaller lugs bad thing happen...my bedside proves it. Auto zone has the lugs you need that fit your stud with the larger outside diameter to fit your new wheels.

 

ok my buddy sold the tires I missed out. but I think I will go to a 35x12.5 tire and rim combo does anyone know what offset I will need for those tires with a 3" lift?

 

35's with only three inches of lift are going to rub in various places. If you don't off-road at all.... less of an issue.

Offset isn't really all that important, backspacing is what you need to worry about. Stock is like 4.5 inches. Stay right around in that neighborhood. A lot depends on the width of your new wheels.....

Your are going to have big issues going that wide. Why so wide? like 10" max, what tires are you going to put on?

 

ya your right I want to keep my stock rims but want to go as tall as I can (I already have to regear) I have a 3 inch leveling kit whats the tallest tire that would fit stock sport rims?

 

33" tires would go good with your 3" lift. May get a little rubbing on the lower control arm with the steering turned all the way to the lock.
