Default new dodge owner any advice 1998 dodge ram 1500 2wd

ok guy thanks in advance for helping out I have a 1998 dodge ram 1500 5.2 with a 3.55 rearend i dont know what this truck has done to it not much i think but i have had the trans rebulit with a shift kit and i will be doing alot of towing and im getting about 230 miles and a tank and have a check engine light with code p1294 i looking for good mods and to fix all issues with this truck

first check to see if it has the 7 1/4 axle housing. if it does change it to at least 8 1/4. the 7 1/4 would fail behind 6 cyl. and if it has the reg electronic ignition. get 2 ballast resistors put them in the glove box. at the first no start just swap it before you even check any thing.

ok will do that and the rear axle is 9.25 i think not sure i update the thread with a build sheet from dodge

P1294 Target Idle Not Reached

Either a failing IAC motor, or, plenum is badly blown.

ok if the plenum is blown i was thinking of replacing the intake with the
Mopar Performance V8 Single Plane MPI Intake Manifolds 5007852

and a sct tune what do yall think

Excellent choice. Although, if you look around a bit, I think you can find them cheaper.

Your link is kinda borked..... doesn't quite work. If you cut/paste though, it does work.

I am curious, what is the difference between that one, and item, and this one. It looks like the exact same manifold, but, it is under 300 bucks?
