Default Magnum 408 build

I'm going to be building a 408 stroker for my truck in the near future. I've put together a parts list for what I am kind of looking at putting into it. I'm looking to have something with good bottom end but still have some legs up top.

408 stroker

scat cast crank
Eagle forged I beam Rods
Kb hypereutectic step dish 9.9:1
Comp 218xr extreme energy hydraulic roller 108 Lsa
Hughes edelbrock intake
Hughes Big gulp throttle body
Pace setter shorty headers
Hemifever tune
Msd fuel pump

Not sure on injectors, would 30 lb injectors be enough?

Any input is appreciated, if anyone has built one and has any pointers or anything I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Better make sure your transmission is up to par.

Cast crank, and forged rods? Why?

The 108 LSA cam is going to be a right biatch to tune. You will never get that to idle worth a darn.

Wide band O2 sensor as well, for tuning.

Stock fuel pump will supply enough fuel.

Not sure on injectors either.

Look for a thread by Matty675, he did a 408 build, well, at least, most of one.....

For headers, why not either save money and go with ebay stainless shortys (which at least won't rust out like painted headers) or spend a little extra for pace setters's long tubes? (ceramic coated if youre feeling really spendy)

24# injectors is what I have in my 408.

Have the trans rebuilt at the same time. It will not last long.

Mine is a nv4500 5 speed, I plan on putting a good clutch in. What clutch do you recommend? Will the centerforce dual friction be enough to hold it?

As far as crank and rods go, I don't plan on boost but I might put a 75 or 100 shot of spray on it in the future. Will the cast crank be alright? And the forged rods I found aren't much more expensive than cast ones and stronger.

Spend the additional coin, and get the forged crank. If you are even remotely considering nitrous..... I wouldn't be without it.

No clue on clutches.....

DerickC are you running the factory fuel pump? And what kind of 02 sensors should I get?

Stock NTK O2's will be fine. Will more than likely need a wideband for tuning purposes. (and some way to log data, including the wideband, will be really helpful.)
