Default coolant leak help

Hey guys just need some expert advice.

So it has currently been -35 where I live the past week. My truck has been making some weird sounds but yesterday it was leaking coolant from the bottom driverside corner of the radiator. But I topped it up and it hasnt leaked since. It only leaked the one time when it was shut off after a 25 minute drive. The coolant never froze because it was leaking thank god, but why would it stop? I am at school so dont really want to throw in a new one unless it for sure needs one.

Anyone know why this would happen?

Just ran it for five minutes and no signs of leaking at all. But upon further investigation the entire driver side front end is covered in antifreeze from yesterday. tie rods, struts, inner hub assembly? What would cause this?

I don't think 5 min is enough time for it
to warm up to show a leak. The coolant
all over is from it leaking while you were driving
last time.

Probably, check the seal where the plastic tank is crimped to the core itself. They like to blow out there. Probably have to move the fan shroud out of the way to see it.

Yeah okay I am going to pull the fan shroud tomorrow for sure didnt have too much time today.

Whats the consensus on a used radiator? parts truck, junkyard ect?

Off topic but I have another smaller issue. Similar to the new thread about the rear suicide door latch not properly closing. Mine is the same way except I can push the latch in (on the door) but it comes back out easily and does not respond to the handle. Do I have to replace the whole latch?

Go after the latch with chemicals first. Might just be rusted up.

I got my new radiator for under 150. If you can get a good deal on a used one.... and you are a gamblin' man, give it a shot.

If you plan to keep the truck a while, replace that radiator with an all-aluminum radiator, so this issue won't happen again. CSF 2969 is still available.

WD-40 isn't the best for freeing up rusted parts, PB Blaster, or something similar works far better.
