I just cleaned up and put liquid tape on it. Don't feel like laying in snow at a junk yard to find right pig tail. Pcm conectors are clean. Here is to hoping this fixes one problem

Still not fixed. If I get the external regulator will that bypass any wires the go to the pcm if that is the problem.

Yes, it will annoy the PCM though, and it will set a code about it. If it solves your charging issues, you might be able to 'fool' the pcm into thinking its doing something by hooking its wires back up as well.
