You had image tags wrapped around html code. For the image tags, just a direct link to the pic is sufficient. With a "real" browser, Photobucket and the like provide and image link (just click on it, and it copies it to your clipboard, then just paste it into a post). I haven't used the mobile version of the site for anything other than to send one PM...... so, not entirely sure how it works on those.

One wire should be hot with ignition on.

Center pin should be park/neutral indicator. (not entirely sure how that one works, I think the switch just provides ground path for the start relay control circuit.) (( yep, verified, center pin just goes to ground with the trans in park, or neutral.))

remaining pin is backup lights.

P/N switch should be a three pin connector. Its toward the front of the trans, right below where the shift linkage hits.

The 8 pin connector is for transmission control circuits. It's all about the governor, and O/D, and TCC solenoids.

That is the wrong pigtail, that controls the transmission solenoids.
Download the 96 manual.
On page 8W-80-35 of the manual it show's you what the connector your looking for looks like and what wires are what, there's only 3 pins.
HeyYou posted while i was checking manual.
