One of the torque converter nuts is of center a wee bit. Is grinning the flex plate to widen the hole an option?

No. Don't do that. take out the rest of the bolts, rotate the torque converter 90 degrees, and try again. It only bolts up one way. For balance reasons, it MUST be correct.

I went all the way around in 90 degree increments. No joy. I'll button everything up and give PATC a call tomorrow. Only thing that stinks is I'm working 80 hours this week and won't be able to tackle again this until next weekend.

You have a 5.2 or 5.9 in there? Wonder if you got the wrong flexplate.

Should be the same flex plates dimension wise, just weighted differently right?

5.2. I'm thinking they sent me a 5.9 converter or their quality control took a hit.

flex plate is the original. Never changed. No weights.

Yes flex plate is the same for a 5.2 or 5.9 the one for the 5.9 just has weights on it.
So you have tried turn the flax plate one hole at a time to see if you can get the holes to line up?

And as far as I know torque converters are the same too for both engines.

You have a part number for the torque converter?
