I just scored some Military Wrangler 36" tires for my truck. Putting them up to my 34s they are not much bigger (of course). Would it be wiser to regear before I put them on? Personally I think so, but whats ya'lls opinions?
I went with 285/75/16 tires and with 3.55s, it feels very sluggish starting off from a dead stop. I plan to step up to 4.10s in the next few months to wake it up. How does it feel with the 34s you have on it now?
They're pretty fair. Prob 15 pds heavier per tire just by guessing after lifting them. They are lighter duty I believe. Not the 25 ply, but around 12 I think.
btw should I go 4.56 or 4.88. I only ask because I noticed that 4.88 gears are abit more expensive. I want the low-end grunt but my wallet will cry if I spend over about 150 per axle. I got someone who has done this before to help put them in, but does anyone out there know of better prices on the ring and pinion sets?
