WTF is a 45RE?

44RH/RE and 46RH/RE are generally what's found in the 1500/2500 5.2 and 5.9L motors (automatic's anyway).

If indeed you are referring to bolting a 44RE up to a 5.9L, it may hold up for a short time period.

Bell housing the same?

I'm not sure how the physical size of the 2 differs, could take a little extra work to make it fit.

How long will the 46RE be down for rebuild?

Yep, 44 is a shorter trans, needing a longer driveshaft.

How much shorter is a 44RE than a 46RE? This is the first time I have heard of this. So when I swap my 44RE for a 46RE I am going to have to get my drive shafts modified?? That will suck................................

There is a 45RFE, but it is a completely different beast than the 46RE, isn't it?
