High NOx emissions can also be caused by lean conditions... If you haven't fixed your plenum, you've got a pretty sizable vacuum leak there. Could be contributing to a lean mix.

Glad you got it passed though.

So this will also cause the truck to be in some way lazy?

Just disconnect the battery for about ten minutes. PCM will forget everything it thought it knew about running the engine.

Shouldn't make it run rough at all.

Ok, i have done that reset, and is running fine after .

Now is no way to know to know the numbers for emission ,till the next time for smog!

Hopefully soon i will also do the plenum job , i know that at :

http://www.hughesengines.com/Index/p...2&partid=27091

is $119 plus shipping i guess,

and to save some money , maybe will contact the seller : trista34 or her husband, if they still have any for $70 with free
shipping ,

now little confuse exactly what gaskets and screws to get?!

to make sure i get exactly what i need for the job.

As i see that they use felpro intake gaskets ,

and autozone has them for $20

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...7_288361_5297_

so thats $90 for all, how about the intake screws? do we need those changed also?

Just to make sure i have all i need once i start the job...

Thanks,

Get the '98 Fel Pro set, they have the rubber crossover gaskets versus the cork ones from what I've heard.
You can reuse the plenum pan bolts, but you must use new intake manifold bolts.
Be sure to follow the proper torquing sequence when reinstalling the man.
