No problem! I agree with checking out the plenum. the oil getting sucked up from that and burning isnt good for emissions and that would also coat your o2 sensor throwing it off. As far as oil thats up to you what you want to run, i have been running valvoline maxlife for the past 3 years/50,000 miles. Napa brand oil is also made by valvoline(ashland) and is a little cheaper than valvoline.

Timing on our trucks is totally controlled by the PCM. It is not adjustable short of reprogramming the pcm. That's why they don't check it.

Just up to temp, make sure it's not in open loop. (And we are back to replacing the front O2 to control air/fuel mix)
Yes , Clean oil is refreshing for the engine! will do that.

"make sure it's not in open loop." you mean like go drive it for a while ,but from my
understanding when it hits up not to be exactly when thermostat opens? to cool of the engine or?

And i am thinking to change the O2 Also , New one after 10 year or 85.000 miles does not hurt.
Found at autozone for $45 Bosch , with plug , but not sure if okay, as i know some may not run well
if they not original! Anyone have purchased this and run okay after install?

Thank you.

Will change the O2 and oil/filter, last time i put "mobile super" oil in it.

Soon i guess i may also take care of that plenum, just need little time of to do that
but it must be done.

Thanks.

Hmm, as i remember last time i took the truck for smog ,the guy put the gun on the timing
as it was off little for some reason,so he adjusted for me ,but this time no more gun, thats why
i ask him ,why not using the timing gun...

Anyway, will see after changing this few things ,will goback to smog place.

I am hearing people , like: put this in gas will help with passing the smog! is that right?
is there anything to put into the gas that is legal and will help with the emission to go down?

or maybe not...

Thanks!...

I'd look for an NTK O2 sensor... sometimes these trucks don't like Bosch O2's.

I will say about 40,45.000 miles.
i look but can't tell the brand as it has some metal guards that covers the CAT.

It is welded to the original exhaust pipe.

As i look at the auto parts , and they say O2 for Rear of converter or front on the converter, and mine is on the converter, confusing their info and i have the 4 wire with square plug.
