I got this in 2012 in Los Angeles...compare the max allowable. I'm due back next month, makes me wonder if they lowered the max allowable numbers in the last 2 years. And does anyone know why all my numbers are almost at max, what would cause that? The guy said he had to heat up my cat real good to get it to pass....

Need some info on your truck first. Including how long before the test your last oil change was.

A long time, probably 15,000 miles. From reading some replies here, I'm clearly gonna put new oil and filter on before taking it in next month.

That's just a bit too long.....

Yeah, change the oil, that should make at least some difference. If it still fails, we can start looking elsewhere.

I just use whatever is cheapest, as it doesn't stay in the motor for 3000 miles in any event.....

You havn`t changed your oil in 15000 miles ?, not a good way to take care of your engine. What about cap rotor and plugs ?.

I end up exchanging the Mobil1 10W-30 for Castrol GTX HM 10W-30.
