Swap the horn relay, and the starter relay in the PDC. (black box under hood, right behind battery.)

If HeyYou's idea doesn't work, just curious - has the starter ever been replaced on this truck? Could be that the starter is going bad. Best way to tell is to remove it and take it to the auto parts store for a thorough testing.

Also, when you have a moment, please update your profile with your truck information (year, make, model, etc.).

I have not replaced it yet. I was waiting for a buddy who is a mecanic to come check it out for me but he has been super swamped. I am a little impatient so I am going to take the old one off today since we are going to have some nice weather. I have heard by several people that it shouldnt be to hard. I am taking their word for it so we will see I did try swapping out the relays and the starter one worked in the horn slot. So, hopefully I will get it off and swapped out today. I will let you know....

P.S. I will get my profile updated as well

Disconnect the battery before removing the starter.

The one on top of the starter? That one was a REAL drag for me. I think I have busted my knuckles a couple times getting it loose...... (I have had the pleasure of dropping my oil pan several times, to clean bits of rag out of the pump pickup tube.)

Yes the top one!! The bottom one was a piece of cake. Oh yeah, my hands are all beat up just from trying to get that one out. I probably havent found the right tool to help me get it off. We had a huge dust storm here yesterday so I didn't get to work on it. Maybe today!!

We'll it wasn't the starter I have been having kids help me turning the key. I tried to start once I got the new starter on and it doesn't seem like the ignition is turning right.

Ignition switch on yours is all self contained. No linkages or such to deal with. (aside from the park lock on auto transmissions.) Make sure the shift linkage is adjusted correctly, and that the lever is going fully into park. If you still have an issue, time for ignition switch.
