sluggish acceleration?
I went on a 30 mile trip out of town and back on the highway with top speeds of 60 mph. Everything was fine until I got back into town and now my truck feels like a slug bug. From 1-25mph I have to mash on the pedal just to get it to accelerate and then after it hits about 20 - 30 mph the truck takes off like normal. The transmission seems to be shifting just fine always reaches 2,200 rpm and then shifts like usually. I revved the engine up and no slow response or anything from the engine, engines also idles normal.Just had the engine and transmission oil replaced 2,000 miles ago. And the Radiator was replaced 2 days ago because of a leak in the old one. The truck isn't throwing any codes and no dash lights are on. Has this happened to anyone else? I usually wouldn't care about slow response but the town I drive to each week has some of the speediest craziest drivers, about as bad as Phoenix on a good day.
ok I just got back from driving it to a friends. I noticed that when I started it worked fine and everything acceleration was great and back to normal. After a few stops like 2 or 3 at red lights and stops signs. It starts to slug down again and I have to once again mash on the pedal and wait for it to get to 25mph for normal acceleration.Just test drove the truck again and notice the oil pressure gauge goes up when accelerating and down when idling not sure if that helps or not. Also noticed a drop of fresh oil on the driveway when I was backing up from the test drive. plenum in the inside looks clean though?>

Your problem sounds just like mine that I just posted. I'll be anxious to see what everyone thinks. I don't believe it's a big or expensive fix but don't know where to start. Thought it might be a fuel filter or fuel pump but will wait and see what some of the posts here are first.
Good luck.
Good luck.
That's normal for the oil pressure to increase with acceleration. When it stays below the 40 mark all the time then your getting sludged up or worn bearings. Could try unplugging the front 02 sensor harness on top of transmission, leave sensor in the bung hole, see if there is improvement. It will keep pcm from going into closed loop mode.

I think there is multiple things in conclusion to the question, Not sure but does the fuel pump affect the oil gauge in the truck at all? Im looking at all the options between a faulty torque converter, Oil pump failure, fuel pump failure. Oil sender unit checked and is okay, plenum checked and is okay. Still trying to find out why I have 2 drops of oil come from nowhere. These seems to be old oil near the timing covers but that doesn't seem to be such a big deal since its been slow leaking forever now. Not sure what else could cause the problem.unconnected the o2 sensor and still the same thing happened. The oil on the dipstick smells like a bbq but when the truck is turned on the smell goes away. And here I thought Ford only has these problems at 116,000 miles....
Fuel and oil are two separate systems, and do not interact with each other.
Try removing the front O2 sensor from the exhaust completely, see if the truck drives any better.
How did you test the oil pressure sender? I would suggest putting a mechanical gauge on it for a bit, and see what pressure is REALLY doing.
