Default Tuning question

I'm going to be rebuilding my 360 soon and was wondering if I put the MOPAR m1 intake and a big gulp throttle body from Hughes on it if I would need an sct tuner or not? Would it run fine without it?

These should fit a 3/4 ton, 360, 5 speed shouldn't they?

Don't need the big gulp, that will compromise low end grunt. 50mm is adequate, 52 is you get some other 'heavy breathing' stuff inside the engine.

Headers should bolt right up no problems. I don't think there are ANY differences in engine bay/fitment between the half, 3/4, and 1-ton trucks.

Okay, I didn't think there was any difference either but they aren't listed if you search for a 3/4 ton, it only comes up with shorties for a 3/4 ton. Will I need the sct with just the intake?

That is a Yes & No type question. No the truck will run with just the new intake and TB BUT!!! If you want to get everything you can out of your rebuild then yes you want to use a tuner. And as HeyYou suggested get a 50 or 52mm TB not the big gulp. There are times that going BIG isn't the answer.
If you're going to be rebuilding the engine then also look at increasing your compression ratio a little plus installing a cam with a little better profile.

+1 on the smaller throttle body...in fact, you can go on ebay and find bored throttle bodies for magnum engines for way less than what hughes charges. I have a 50 mm throttle body with the hughes airgap intake and the thing runs like a raped ape...i also have the tuner with it too tho (sct)

Ok, well for now I was just going to get the intake if I didn't have to get the tuner too. If I have to get the tuner I'll put a cam and bump compression a bit too

tuner is good for much more than simply re-calibrating the engine for a different cam....you likely have the "death flash" on your factory computer which is crippling your engine's potential. The tuner removes the flash and opens the computer back up for better performance...

Ok I've kinda got a parts list put together. Any input is appreciated, if there's anything else I'll need or should change. Parts are getting ordered soon

-MOPAR mpi intake
-52mm tb
-Comp extreme energy 224xr cam
-Keith black 10.7:1 hyper flat tops
-Odessa monster heads (one of mine is cracked)
-tune from hemifever
-long tube headers into 36" header glasspacks

Motor will be getting bored out .030

Will I need a bigger injector? And for the price of 380 bucks would it be worth it to throw a cast scat crank in it? Or will the stocker be fine?

Also I can't find any hyper pistons that are down in the upper 9s or lower 10 compression range. They're either low 9s or high 10s. I'll be running a 64cc combustion chamber

Wow that's gonna be a lot of work there, will give it a little more go power. If you thinking of putting a crank in might as well make it a 408 or maybe 426 stroker. Then you will definitely need new injectors. The stock injectors will be fine with what you currently have planned. You're gonna need a vacuum gauge and a wideband air/fuel guage too.
If you stroke the motor you may need to rebuild the trans soon unless you are real easy on it.
What gears you have?
Also some model years have dish pistons with valve cutouts to avoid interference issues so keep that in mind when you choose pistons.
When you order the heads they will want your cam info to set the spring pressure on the valves.

If you have a moment take some time and update your signature with your truck model info.

And for your original question, no you don't need the SCT to run a new intake or TB or roller rockers.
