2500's came with der diesel as well. One tons will be dual rear wheel. ALL of them were. So 2500 is what you really want.

Okay and what about the wait to start light in the instrument cluster in the dash. Is there a way to get that light or will I just have to live without one?

And could I use a 24 valve or does it have to be a 12v

24 valve is mostly electronically controlled. You *could* use one, but, it would be more complicated. (would have to change over the electronics, and also the interior wiring, dash, etc.)

Wait to start light is there in the dash, not sure what it would take to make it work. (put a bulb in it, and see what happens.)

^HY is right on, a 24v is doable but will be much complicated then a 12v install.

You're also going to have to swap the entire fuel system out as well
