OK, I'll move you to the correct section. Spend a few minutes reading what each sections purpose is before posting. This section is for reporting issues with the Dodge Forum internet site.

Probably a good first step would be to drop the pan, and see what you find. The governor solenoids in these are not self cleaning... so, they can get clogged up with crap, and stop working right. Might be able to just change the solenoid and sensor, and be good to go for a while. Or, it might be getting on toward time for a rebuild. Gotta take a look, and see what ya got.

Is the check engine lamp on? And if it is, what are the codes. If the lamp is not on, then I would remove the pan and check for debris. How is 1st and 3rd gears? The front kick down band maybe loose or missing and kick down strut.

it has at least 193.oo0 miles . i took it to ammco an they said they could not tell in lese they droped pan an take it apart . i also took it to some one else an they said it was backfiring an it was not the transmission but i thought the code light needs to be on to show if it bad .also can there be a sensor in the engine that acts like the shifting problem but not the tranny problems i am so confused .i was on my way to see my boys play in specail olympics state when it gave out

If the engine isn't running correctly that will effect the transmission. I would have the engine checked for a misfire before taking the transmission apart.
