Turn off O/D, and you should be fine.

Thats what i thought but wanted to check with you guys. Gonna get my hands on a service manual. By chance what parts should i start looking for to rebuild just the portion of the tranny containing the OD clutch while the tranny is in the truck?

Don't know if you can get JUST those parts separately..... check at wittrans.com, they have a nice blow up of the transmission. Should give you some idea. Not sure what upgrades are available. (if you can put in extra clutches and whatnot.)

I know rock auto has just the OD clutch but i don't know what other parts are required. So i will check that site and get a manual to figure it out.

Well it looks like from the tranny blow out, there are a lot of parts to the OD... On another note i did the check valve delete today before i pulled my dad boat. I figured things would go wrong when the timing was most inconvenient so better safe then sorry Put a solid 200 miles on her today and she ran pretty good. Another issues popped up so I'm going to start a new thread.
