95 Ram intermitent crank - no start
New guy here. have used the search function but have not found any posts with the same scenario as my prob so here goes -
95 Ram 2500 - 5.9 gas motor - automatic - 4x4 - 112,000 miles
When truck is cold starts right up. once it reaches full operating temp and it runs for 15 mins or so truck will shut off ( just like you turned the key off ) this happens both while driving or just letting the truck sit and idle. when this happens you get the crank -no start. also- the cel will not come on nor can you enter diagnostic mode. wait 15 mins or so and it will fire right up. then you can enter diagnostic mode - gives a code 12 ( no other codes ) had a snap on solus hooked up to it. while running everything reads with in specs. when truck dies scan tool losses its connection. the following has been done
new fuel pump , crank position sensor , ignition switch , asd relay . not sure where to start. any way to test the ecm its self other then buying one? hopefully someone has seen this condition before. sorry for the novel but feel more info the better. Thanks

Thank you for the quick reply. I am leaning twords a bad ecm. wish there was a way to test it. will check prices on a junkyard part.
Looks like the ecm for my truck is either real popular or real rare as no salvage yards around me seem to have the right one nor do any parts stores have it either ( including online resources ) the oe number for the ecm in my truck is - 56028475. guess I will call the dealer next. only can imagine the price of one from them. also looking for a company the rebuilds them. anyone has any ideas I am open to suggestions.
Don't bother with the dealer. They command some seriously premium prices for their PCM's. (close to four digits.)
Check EBay for rebuilders. Pay close attention to their feedback though... some of them are pretty crappy. (Auto Computer Exchange for instance.)
Can your local parts store order one for you? Yours doesn't need to be programmed. (in fact, it can't be..... OBDI) Either that, or find a wrecking yard that has a parts locator service..... That has worked for me in the past on hard to find parts.

All the parts stores draw a blank on this ecm. they all say the same thing - not available. ( only this part number though-oe 56028475 ) they can only offer to send it out for repair. none available through ebay. it is available from amazon ( 450.00 ) none of the wrecking yards here ( I live in SanDiego , ca ) seem to be able to locate this particular one. will try to find a rebuilder , hope to find someone near here ( west coast ) all seem to be east coast based . the search continues.
You can get a performance PCM-$278, improves performance, downside is requires higher octane fuel, no more 87.
