"STRUT. Right/left. Transmission to Block. "
well the lil ol dodge is at it again. I was greasing and basically inspecting under my truck when I saw what to me looks like mounts running from the block to the bell housing of the tranny.
well both are broke into. The left side has been welded together before. the right side is missing the end that bolts to the tranny bell housing.
my parts manual calls them (struts left and right block to transmission) part numbers
Right 52117771
left 52117772
after doing some searches online I find the part numbers are back wards and the right side "This product is no longer available" from /www.factorychryslerparts.com and there is only 2 sites on all the web I can find the left side.
Question 1. being these things have been broke for alooong time and I drive it daily with no problems, are they really necessary? 2.i plan to do some mountain climbing in a cple weeks do I need them? what do they do help hold down on eng/tranny twist? wonder if any body has ever went from these holes say into the frame on each side that to me would really hold them down good if where worried about eng or tranny twist.

ill look around the junk yards here. I have the 5.9 gasser
have a friend welding up the left side for now.
the right side is missing one end. from what I see hasn't been on there sense I had the vehicle
so from what I see these mounts don't really do much but help hold the tranny to the eng block right?
