Default Blinker Maddness

I'll start off by apologizing if this has already been asked. So I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.9 in it. Several months ago I started experiencing trouble with my blinkers but the problem cleared up after a few minutes so I thought nothing of it. Now within the past two days the problem will not go away. When I go to turn my blinkers on, left or right, they will turn on for only a few seconds, stay on for several seconds, not work at all, etc. My caution lights work just fine, so I know its not the bulbs. All other lights work just fine as well. The issue is only in my blinkers. After searching several sites and also forums many said to try replacing the multifunction switch. I did this a few hours ago and the problem continued and the new switch was kind of noisy as well. I put the old switch back on and of course the problem is still there. If you have any ideas what may be wrong I'm open to hear them. Like I said everyone I heard from said it was the multifunction switch, but after putting a brand new one in and the problem continuing, it has led me to believe that is not the problem.

Not gonna lie, automobiles are not my second language. I kind of learn as I go. Just making sure, I'm assuming you're talking about this small blue box inside my fuse box to the left of the dashboard?

That's more than likely it. Your truck only has one that does double duty. There are two in my truck.

May sound like a dumb question, I'm about to head to the parts store and pick one up, do I need two. You said your has two. Or is it just the model truck I have only uses 1?

Went to the store and bought a new flasher. I put the new flasher in and then nothing worked. The turn signals and the caution lights no longer work. I put the old one back in and the same thing. So now I'm not sure what's wrong.

Check fuses. Fuse 10 in the one on the side of the dash, Fuse 10 in the PDC. (behind the battery, under the hood.)

Pre 98 trucks had two flashers, one for turn signals, one for hazard flashers. 98 and newer trucks only had one, that did both jobs.

I checked the fuse by the dash, I looked under the hood, but wasn't sure which fuse you were talking about in the PDC. They are labeled under the box, but not by number like the one on the dash. The fuse in the dash was not blown. Still no flashers or caution lights. All other lights work though.
