Default intake manifold removal help

I followed the directions to a T.. the intake manifold is really lose and I can see the valley, however something is still holding it in place and I have no clue what it is. It's something on the rear passenger side of the manifold, Huntingdon what the heck it is... it's really annoying lol

Sounds like the EGR tube. Goes down to the exhaust manifold. If you can't see it, you can feel it, comes off with an end wrench behind the intake manifold, don't recall the size.

Can also unbolt the EGR pipe from the exhaust manifold to allow the intake manifold to come off, too.

I looked at the bolts on the exh. man. and was afraid to mess with them, just knew they'd break and lead to regrets.

Brake or cut all (2) bolts holding the EGR tube to the exhaust manifold.
Get two replacement ones from ACE or Home Depot, and it should all come off.

Not on the head bolts though. Throws off the torque spec. You don't wanna go there.

Ah man don't tell me that, I've been putting anti-seize on head bolts for a long time...

Another thing about head bolts, I heard long ago not to use a wire wheel to clean the threads. Have often wondered how many guys do that, and if they actually have any problems because of it.

some head bolts need anti seize, or even sealant depends on the vehicle, but most specify dry threads, great way to warp a head
