Default Misfire and terrible mpgs....

Okay 2001 ram 1500 sport 2wd.....the truck idles pretty rough and will shake when accelerating around 40mph. I have a code for a mis in cylinder 4 and nothing I've done to fix it has helped. All plugs and wires are pretty new and in good shape. Wires routed correctly. Injectors are fine all the gaskets are only a few months old. Compression test yielded numbers 150-160 for all cylinders. Any ideas would be appreciated

Swap 2 and 4 injectors, see if the problem stays on number 4, or migrates with the injector.

Are your plug wires routed per the TSB? (it's in the faq section)

Fixed your plenum?

Does it do it immediately? Or, only after running for a few minutes?

That would be a big 10-4 to everything. The rough idle seems to always be present. The shaking while accelerating is occasionally not there and tends to be less apparent after I've driven awhile

210,000 and it very we'll could be the original. The truck was a hand me down that I got when it was at 205,000 and I've never heard any mention of it ever being replaced

If all the ignition parts are in good shape...

Does it do it right away, or, only after driving for a bit?

If it is, I'd recommend replacing the CPS.

In the coarse of doing other mods, I had replaced every sensor except the crank and cam position... I had a very random misfire issue that was progressively getting worse, and decided to change crank position sensor to see if that would help.
It sure did... miss was gone, idle was smooth, and no longer high... acceleration was better, and I've gained 1mpg.
If it's old, change it... use factory issue.

I was just about to go ahead and do it and if you don't mind me asking what's the easiest way to get to it since it seems a little awkward and hard to get to it
