brake light on
took the truck in and had the front axle seals replaced. I should have just did them when i did the 4x4 ujoints; simply do not have the time right now. Anyway started up the truck and the brake light was on. Told the mechanicand he played with it awhile, but to no avail. I am suspecting RWAL sensor in the rear axle, but wondering when that sensor goes bad does it give you the brake light or the abs light?
I have 4 wheel abs and the speedo is fine.

thanks for the response hey you - bled the brakes no change. Brake fluid coming through clear and no bubbles. Any other ideas? RWAL? I do not want to change a bunch of parts on a whim.
out of curiosity if the garage pushed the calipers in withouth the resvoir cap off what would happen?

reply I do
and looking at the abs lines it appears one of them is damaged. I read through another post where a guy was checking a similar issue and during key on / engine off noticed his abs light on the dash cluster not working. I have the same issue (new to me) So I decided to check the electrical lines. It is where the line tucks in near the rotor. The garage never put the passenger side brake shield back on. This is why I hate when I cannot do the work.

I think it's part of the hub/bearing assembly......
That's just an outer sleeve though. There are two little wires in there. If they aren't broken, chances are the sensor is ok. Need to get codes read, and see what it is whining about.

found broke wires on the passenger side. Real fun; I had to solder the little nubs of wire back together because there was so little left near the knuckle, heat shrinked it, wire loom, and now --- no more brake light.
