So I picked up my truck today and something isn't right. When I picked it up they told me that they adjusted to thrust angle to move the tires so they are centered... what? All I wanted them to do was adjust the track bar to the right length. They told me they had to do a "custom" alignment to get the tires centered, but doing so that the truck may pull to one side, the right (and it sure as hell does). What did they do to my truck?? I don't even know what to do anymore... did they even adjust the track bar? Or did they do something else to center the axle??? I picked up the truck at 5:25pm and they close at 5:30pm so I didn't even really have time to ask them questions. I sort of just got handed the keys and was told quickly what they did. All they said was they adjusted the thrust angle, did a "custom" alignment, and that the truck is no longer in spec and that it may pull to one side and cause tire wear. WTF??? Now what???

You seem to be someone who can do all this on your own, if I were you Id go over everything top to bottom myself and make sure its right or see what theyve done wrong. I would just give up on that shop and stay far away.

I'd like to think I'm decently mechanically inclined. All thanks to you guys on here for walking me through stuff I slowly learned how to do most of my own work. Never tackled anything more than an oil change or changing spark plugs, or little stuff until I joined here, for that I thank you! Here are my thoughts on my situation, my front axle is centered now, okay. They told me that to do so they had to adjust my thrust angle to -.14° I was not to sure what this ment so I did a little research. I found that basically what it is, is the angle at which the front and rear axles line up (so it should be at 0°) I know the front is centered so I thought maybe the back is not? If I remeber correctly when I lifted the truck when I put the add-a-leaf in and went to bolt everything back up the rear axle was like 1/2" off to one side (can't recall off hand) of where it originally was. I didn't think to much of it, but I think that if I shift my rear axle back to where it was it should set my thrust angle back to 0°. Does that sound right? Any input is, like always, much appreciated!

Yeah your rear axle shouldn't be cockeyed. Adding a leaf shouldn't have moved it sideways? Did you install correctly?

Show some pics of that. You have to get the rear fixed first becuase that's what the front alignment is done off of.

When I bolted the leaf pack back together the axle might have shifted over a bit. When I went to bolt the pack to the axle it didn't line up to the marks the u bolts had left on the axle. It was shifted about 1/2". I didn't think it would cause any problems, and was tired and wanted to be done so didn't bother trying to move it and bolted it up. But of course I was wrong and now I'm pretty sure it's what is causing my pull. My front axle is centered, my rear is 1/2" to the left, which means my front is 1/2" to the right of the rear's location, causing my pull to the right. Does that sound plausible?

Rear axle should be located by the pins thru the springs..... Re-centering it sure isn't going to hurt anything.

Well I just checked the rear axle... It's dead center. So why would my front axle be centered with the body but not line up with the rear axle?? It's never been in an accident. So what gives? What can I do??
