Default front axle not centered?

Okay guys, I noticed a clunking noise coming from my front end a few weeks back. Had my brother shake the truck and found it was a bad sway bar link. Replaced both and was advised to do something about my track bar because since I'm lifted it's too short which pulls my axle to the driver side and causing my sway bar links to not be perpendicular to the ground. I bought an adjustable track bar and had it installed but everything looks EXACTLY the same??? My driver side tire still sticks out about an inch more than the passenger, the end links are still tilted, what gives? I called the shop and they said that they adjusted it to the center line of the truck and that some trucks just dog leg like that. What??? Isn't that the purpose of the ADJUSTABLE track bar? To center the axle??? What should I do?? Paid them $30 to install and 69.99 for an alignment, and seems to me like I bought the track bar in vein if it didn't fix my axle not being center...

Park the truck on a level surface. Tire pointed STRAIGHT. (we care about the tires, NOT the steering wheel.)

Measure from the outside of the tire, to the fender. (see how far it sticks out/is recessed, depending on which side.)

Adjust track bar to center axle.

Adjust drag link to center steering.

Enjoy.

Shouldn't do anything at all to your alignment. If the end links still aren't where you want them, loosen up the sway bar mounts, move it where you want it, tighten them back up.

So did I get ripped off??? I paid $100 and they didn't do what I wanted. Only reason I had it done by them was because I was told I would need an alignment after instal and I worked Saturday which I usually don't. Should I demand they do it or how should I go about it?

which track bar? You made need an Adjustable one made for trucks with more lift. I went with one from topguncustoms that replaced the tie rod end with a heim joint. i had to get the one for up to 8 inches of lift for my axle to center up. I orginally bought one advertised for 6 in lift kits, but it wasnt enough. The longer track bar centerd everthing right up.

should work. you have what, 3in lift?

sounds like they just didnt adjust it

do it yourself and dont go to shops for an alignment

break out a roll of string and you can do an alignment on these trucks just as accurate as the fancy laser stuff.

I did it myself than went and had it aligned anyway. They said everything was already in spec lol

oh and post some pics of the track bar and how bad your axle is out of whack

The only reason I wanna go back is because I paid $100 for it to be done. I know I could probably do it myself. Should have just done it and align it myself -_- I'll post pics tomorrow

You can always go back and try to tell them it's not centered. And to adjust it.

Worst they can say is no.

Also, "some trucks just dog leg like that" is not true, it means something is wrong. They were just too lazy to try actually fixing it.

Good luck

Going today after work to tell them to either fix it or give me a refund and I'll do it myself. I'll post pics when I get home too.

Here is a picture of my tires. As you can see, the driver side sticks out about an inch further than the passenger side.

I went and talked to the shop and they said that they will fix it free of charge tomorrow. Apparently the only guy who knows about lifts does not work weekends so the tech who installed my track bar on Saturday adjusted it to factory specs/lenght. That is what Bryan, the lift/4x4 specialist told me at least. Anyways, he said he will personally take care of it, and will make sure my axle is centered and sway bar links are straight. Either way, I'm doing ALL my own work from here on out, not just most. PS. hows my suspension look?
