Default Weird Vibration in 1996 Ram 2500

Hi I have a 1996 Dodge ram 2500 v10 5 speed manual. Lately for like the past 5 month at 38-45 mph there is a noticeable but not over cumbering vibration coming from the back area of the truck at least that s where I think it is. The reason I think it is coming from there is because the steering wheel doesn't have a vibration in it, nor does the truck ill handle at all at those speeds. the vibration started after I replaced a worn out u join in the rear driveshaft that connects to the rear end. In the past 3 weeks I have replaced the tires and wheels. Tires I went from 285/75r16 mud terrain tire to a factory sized 245/75r16 highway tire and that helped a little bit. shortly after I replaced the steel wheels that I have had on there for 10 years with a set of new worx triads factory sized

Pleaase help!!!!!

Have you checked the u joint you replaced? All the snap rings installed properly? Clamps bolted down to spec? Bolts not coming loose? Did you make sure to not fold or drop a needle bearing?

I made sure not to drop a need bearing, the bolts are tight, Ill recheck the snap rings, is there I possible chance it can be bearing in the rear axle?

Jack it up, and turn/wiggle things. See if anything is loose.

Default Worth a try!

Had same problem after replacing a u joint. Try unhooking drive shaft, and rotate 180. Helped mine, guess it had much to do with balance and frequency at certain speed.. For us, specifically 45 to 55. Gl.

the vibration started after I replaced a worn out u join in the rear driveshaft that connects to the rear end.
When you put the caps in the rear yoke make sure they are tight on the u joint( no side to side movement) and make sure they are centered in the yoke. If you are off to one side or the other it could be the source of the vibration.

I have a 1999 2500 gas-auto Ram truck
been fitting the same issue
have ( all was needed) rebuilt rear end, balanced drive shafts (front and rear)
replace shocks and had tires balanced
still have a little shack that feels like it’s right under the front seats.
been led to believe it could be in the trans now.

looking for any info on this
thanks Robert

When do you feel the vibration? Under power? Coasting? Any particular speed make it better/worse? How are you tires?
