Running rich won't clog the cat. Burning oil will.

The hit you take on fuel economy is more costly than the sensor, but if you're burning oil you need to fix that because it's going to end up costing even more even if you yank the cat out.

find the plugs for the 02 sensors and replace them. there is no way your truck can run properly with out them in place.

well i would get new o2 sensors, install them and see how it does, if all is well then good, but if it still wont go over 3k rpm, i would take the sensors out of the pipe and then gut the cat. then put the o2 sensors back in and see how it does, if its fixed then u can leave it like this since u have no emissions or put a hi-flow cat on. your choice.

If your truck is 96 or newer, with a v-8, and you have federal emissions, then yes. Don't worry about the post cat sensor, unless you are getting a code for it. Rock auto has a good deal on NTK O2 sensors, think they are under 30 bucks.
