My truck the plug was rounded off to put the sensor Into the cat so I've still not got to install the sensor yet I'm just really curious if I should just go ahead an take the cat on off an just do a true dual no cat

Still need the sensors...... else it annoys the PCM.

If you don't have inspections/testing where you are, you can do pretty much whatever you want, provided you can find someone to do it.... (unless you have the stuff to do it yourself.)

^+1 to that. Id figure out what way ya wanna go and do the sensor at the same time. Only lose the cat if it isnt a legal requirement, otherwise leave it alone.

If you can do it all yourself, you will be golden. You can get weld-on O2 bungs at most any exhaust shop, or possibly even the parts store.... Don't weld 'em in. That pretty much guarantees you will have to replace it in a week. May need to do the non-fouler trick on the post-cat O2, to prevent the PCM from whining about cat efficiency.

Then cut the cat and weld in a cross over, an H pipe would be easiest to weld a bung in, and stick the front o2 there. I wouldn't not use a crossover in a true dual setup.

+1 to everything HY said, definitely dont weld the sensor..

I'm no welder but it doesn't leak , honestly , lol . I ran out of gas and just used inner shield wire .

I had an exhaust shop bend 2 30* bends on each end . Came home , cut it up and welded this together after a few measurements .

I trimmed it to fit once the cat was out and welded everything to the truck . I did remove the pass side down pipe and new pc to weld it as I had no way of getting at it on the truck . I tacked it in the position I wanted first of course . Reinstalled it , and welded the drivers side . The bung was welded in while out .

That's my fouler or cheater as I call it on the downstream sensor .

Because I had the fouler , the muffler , and can over look my welds , it cost me under $20 to do this VS $200 as quoted at the shop . My cat was shot
